AwardsSixteen categories made up the Cuisine NZ Champions of Cheese Awards 2009. Each category is judged in classes to determine the best of each. Medals are awarded in every class from bronze to gold. Judges award a Champion Cheese in every award category from the gold medal winners. All Gold Medal winning categories 1 - 14 were then eligible for the ultimate accolade of Yealands Estate Champion of Champions Award or the Cuisine Champion Artisan Cheese Award.
The Cuisine Artisan Cheese Award is awarded to the best cheese from smaller Cheesemaking companies. (Annual production under 25 tonnes).
